A Brush With Kindness
Livingston County Habitat for Humanity will begin repairing
homes in partnership with qualified, low-income homeowners.
This housing repair program called A Brush with Kindness is
aimed at providing weatherization, landscaping, and minor
repair services, such as porch repair and ramps, to low-income
homeowners in need.
of this program is to serve low-income homeowners who struggle
to maintain the exterior of their homes. The work will be
done by volunteers who will use donated materials whenever
possible. The homeowner must meet similar criteria used for
families who are applying for home ownership: demonstrated
need, willingness to partner and ability to re-pay a no interest
loan. Applicants must own their home, and the home must be
with Kindness gives Livingston County Habitat for Humanity
a great opportunity to help more families in need. An additional
benefit is that the kinds of projects to be done will allow
a chance for high school students to become Habitat volunteers.
